I think the goals against us came from errors in midfield. Losing the ball too close to our penalty box and giving the centres and keeper too little time to put up a proper defence.

So basically our defense us the entire reason we finished 3rd.

Imo with the offense we had we over achieved massively.

The stats suggest we had a strong year. I just wish we played more entertaining football.

Not a bad player, when he's playing football, but I really hate his antics....and another left winger. Hope JA has a plan for the right!

Still waiting to hear about Caletti and Papadopoulos re-signing, pretty quiet so far.

Interesting that there's been no news in relation to how much the club made on the Borrello transfer.

I hope it covers the ridiculous $17,000 ACL fine for not giving their officials a cup of tea.

From Twitter: "Around 350k fee then another 100k in appearances plus a percentage of future on sell fees (rumoured)"

Sydney Morning Herald report that Roar have yet more fines as follows:
Brisbane Roar will appeal a hefty fine from the Asian Football Confederation for not providing "international buffet style" meals for a group of travelling Champions League match officials.
But the AFC has refuted claims from Roar managing director Mark Kingsman that they were sanctioned because the six-man delegation was unable to eat lobster twice a day, accusing the club of a lack of respect for the competition's strict regulations.
It is Brisbane's fifth such indiscretion this year alone, with the club having been slugged $US58,000 ($A77,679) in total by the AFC.
They were previously penalised $US25,000 for not covering the naming rights signage outside Suncorp Stadium at the AFC's request, while coach John Aloisi's failure to attend a flash interview after a match in Korea cost him and the club $US10,000 each.
The latest fines, issued last week, stem from April's home clash against Kashima Antlers.
The Roar were penalised $US3000 for letting two photographers onto the field of play without authorisation, and fined 20 per cent of their $US50,000 match subsidy for not providing officials with adequate meals as stipulated by AFC rules.
That equates to $US10,000 - the same amount Muangthong were fined for the dodgy goalpost that Brisbane goalkeeper Jamie Young ripped his arm open on last month.
"They had lobster at night, they just didn't have it at lunch time," Kingsman told AAP.
"The disappointing thing is the fact they could only have lobster once a day, they consider that as serious as Jamie Young coming away with 26 stitches.
"That's a big concern. Where are their priorities?"
An AFC spokesperson said Kingsman's lobster allegation was "not consistent with either the facts nor the evidence" submitted to the AFC disciplinary and ethics committee.
"The club has regularly breached the AFC competition regulations despite attending the annual AFC club competitions workshop where the regulations are presented in detail," the spokesperson said.
"The AFC has not had to issue a fine for not providing appropriate meals to the match officials before."
The other two Australian participants in the Champions League this year, Adelaide United and Western Sydney, have largely played within the rules.
Adelaide's only blemish was an automatic $US1500 fine for incurring five yellow cards in one match, while the Wanderers were reported for a violation of AFC regulations when a smoke bomb was let off by the crowd in their home match against Shanghai SIPG on May 10.
The Roar is also appealing Aloisi's fine, with Kingsman insisting they were told by officials he wasn't required for a post-match interview.
However, the Roar will have to pay the other $US10,000 as their intention to appeal the club's fine was lodged four days too late.

I struggle to believe Kingsman.  All this smacks of the same kind of administrative incompetence that has dogged the club pretty much since the start of the A League.

I'm so over the Brisbane Roar admin circus.  Kingsman would be better off shutting up and focussing on doing his job better.

Ok, I'm going to say this now. I have reached the point where if a well run second club came in, I would consider jumping ship.  This bullshit is just endless from Brisbane Roar admin.

Look the litany of breaches.  How hard is it to get this stuff right?  I despair of this club ever being run properly. I don't believe Kingsman for a moment.  You don't cop a 50k fine for not serving lobster twice a day.  Complete bullshit.

So depressing.

Reports today that Ross has signed a three year deal with Roar. Wasn't John's deal just two years?
Ross will also be a Socceroo scout at the Federations Cup. Not sure how that works.
Also reports that Roar have settled with Mike Mulvey out of court.

Thought the MM thing was done. Trying to forget that debacle.

I'm kind of hoping we don't qualify for the ACL now.... agree we need less administration drama
