Title: Dear John
Post by: Septic Bladder on November 05, 2017, 11:57:56 PM
Dear John,

I think you are great bloke. You wear a nice suit,  you are good at TV analysis and commentating, you will forever be remembered for that goal.

But John, really, you have no idea about how to coach a team.

John, you have now had two goes at this coaching caper, and if I may be permitted a little vulgarity, you suck at it. For your own mental health, for the sake of football in this city, it?s time to move on and do something else.

Your team is slow, robotic, boring, predictable, bereft of flair, unwilling to take risks, totally devoid of any joie de vivre and I believe that these characteristics have been drummed into them by your good self and your deputy.

This performance today against CCM, particularly the first half, should be marketed as a treatment for insomniacs.

Your team is too old, poorly assembled, and remarkably, still not fully fit.

Time to look after your family, and lock in a career at at Foxtel.

Have a Merry Christmas

Regards,

Sep.

Honestly, we should have lost that game. We would have, had Young not made some spectacular saves.

Aloisi isn't going to turn things around this season. He will continue to blame injuries in pre-season for players not being up to standard. He won't look at player age or his lack of tactical awareness.

I really hope that the Bakries are out searching for a replacement, who will be given plenty of time and money to assemble a decent squad for next season. With the amount of players we have coming off contract, it is the perfect opportunity for a squad overhaul.

Sad to say Sep.... I am reduced to having to completely agree with you .
I am ever the optimist and have hoped that JA  would come good ...but sadly I am beginning to think he hasn't got what it takes.
Not sure why, as his tactical analysis on Fox was quite good , you would think he could look at his team and see obvious deficiencies and correct them.
Maybe when he is coaching he is too close and involved ? Maybe he needs distance from a team to accurately assess them ?

Either way ,it would appear he doesn't have what it takes to fix things at the Roar.

The team may improve simply because there is some talent there and if TK comes back in it may settle things more...but JA himself should have managed the whole preseason and first five games much better.
The optimist in me hopes he suddenly comes good but that same optimism is also still hoping for a Lotto win.

At best he is an assistant coach. As Sep said, he will be remembered as a legend of the game here in Australia for that goal. I just hope that his shit coaching doesn't blemish that memory.

Bring back Farina!

Bit like being a film critic, Miron.  Just because you can analyse a film doesn't mean you can make one.

And my views on JA are well known and now reinforced.  A competent pundit he may be, but he's not a coach and he's destroying our club.

Maybe this is all part of a cunning plan by FFA to create a cache of Roar supporters who are so unhappy that they would jump ship to a new Brisbane side.

And it's working!

......Dear Kevin
You have been gifted a prolific striker courtesy of Brisbane,. You have a solvent well resourced club to back you. You inherited a set up put in place by Ange.
You have had a great pre-season. Remember how you beat Brisbane 5-1 at Perry park? It seems so long ago.
Even with some of your players away on international duty courtesy of the inept people that the run the competition, you have an abundance of players at your disposal.
Yet! Still without a win Kevin. How come?
Note even against the second bottom team in the comp! At home!
I see those seagulls circling!

Did you notice how the comentators kept referring to how many of the Roar players have come from Melbourne?
Hingert, Papadopoulos, newly signed Franjic, Skapetis, Theo, Khalfallah...

They didn't feel the need to mention that only Theo and Kalfallah had actually played for a Melbourne HAL club before Brisbane.

Speaking of those bloody seagulls - cant the Stadium employ some eagle/hawk/falcon wranglers to catch and eat a few and chase the rest away. Would make for better viewing than some of the football lately.

Dear John,

I putting finger to iPad once again the write to you as I am now growing uneasy about your continuing tenure at the Roar despite my most sincere and heart felt advice in my earlier correspondence.

I urge you to consider your position to preserve your good name and legacy. I do not think you deserve to be remembered as the coach who over stayed his welcome only to be frog marched out of the door.

Yours

Sep.

Dear John,

Me again.

Mate you are killing me.

I can?t explain why, but I didn?t watch the BBL tonight, nor did I watch reruns of Series 2 of GoT. Instead, I sat in front of my TV virtually flagellating myself with the vision of your team - tis a slow painful torture.

I fear Septicaemia will soon set in.

Please no more.

Leave now.

Yours

S. Bladder.

For those baying for JA's blood, and there are quite a few, I would think that it is much more likely that Ross will get sanctioned.
The famous kicking of the bucket incident post the WSW loss, a brawl in Adelaide in the tunnel, a number reports of issues behind the scenes at Roar (not sure if true or not), damage to property at Suncorp, plus giving a very public finger to the crowd are not exactly family friendly, nor the sort of behaviour most of us find acceptable in the work place or anywhere else.
JA was at great pains to say that he needs people around him that have his back. There is a good case for Ross to have to go imo, and I would assume JA would do a Vidosic if that happens.
Personally I can't see that replacing JA is warranted, given the adverse circumstances, but I would not say the same about Ross.
His behavior is not acceptable. Surely he has to be on his last warning now.

Does anyone have any requests for next season for players coming off contract at other a league clubs ?
As most of our team is up for renewal, can we upgrade ?

New CB ? Bring Rowles back, Jackson back, Tongyik from Melb City
Midfield - Melling as backup for TK, Bratten
Holman replacement or keep ? Akbari, Arzani, Lustica
Winger - Buhagier at CCM or Kamau (if he will leave)
Stiker ?????? Kalud..vic to bring back ? Taggart ? Youth like Lokingulay (at Sydney)

Looks like it will be overseas for the most part.

I dont know the full extent of the Holman injury but he has barely ever been at full fitness since he came. We need someone in attack who can play 9 or 10. Given the number of players we have plus the cap, maybe an injury replacement. We really need a loan system where we could say loan out Ingham for half a season and bring in someone on loan. But that cant happen. Where is Henrique?

Vidosic going to FFA City. Would have been useful for us.
D'aggers out now.
I really think that rather than point the finger at JA the bone should be pointed elsewhere in the club for the ridiculous situation regarding fitness and injuries. The silver lining is that come next year we should have a tasty crop of youngsters coming through.
But meanwhile we  desparately need injury replacement.

I posted this in another thread but thought it fit here as well:

I think JA is a decent manager but as I've said previously, it feels like he went into this season thinking that the experienced guys would lead the charge, make plays on the pitch and be responsibility for moving the team in a positive direction. That is instead of drilling the squad to the N'th degree in relation to how the team should play (tactics etc)..

Bottom Line: For mine JA's managing style relies on individuals doing great things rather than creating a super well drilled squad where everyone is just a cog in the system. In the previous 2 seasons at Brisbane he had the likes of Broich, Maclaran, Borrello, TK(fit), Corona to rely on but this season it's all gone to shit because of injuries. JA's chopping and changing formations and it's put us in a deeper hole because no one understands what's required.

John is not the man to carry us forward.

HOWEVER he's trying his best under shithouse ownership. I actually feel for him because it's gotta be such a bad vibe at the club. He's had to deal with 2 previous seasons with players not getting paid on time. He's had to move training from different venues. No doubt his backroom staff is at barebones too.

BOTTOM LINE: How can you run a professional club without the necessary resources at hand?

It's such a weird one when I think how much effort (and money I think) the club has spent in the last 12 months setting up the Roar Academy and creating partnerships with various SEQ local clubs.

I like you John . You seem a nice guy ....and you did score that goal ......however you should ring Fox and ask for your pundit job back . You are in denial. You constantly find excuses for Roars poor performances . Now most of those excuses have righted themselves ....you blame the players ?
This is your team . You picked them . The buck stops with you.

Dear Bakries, you will never get $20 mil for this club ....sell for whatever you can get ...your only asset ...the fans are disappearing fast .
You keep promising better times ...then you do nothing ... we are not fools .

I predict we will end the season with the club's lowest game day attendance and average attendance.

John, I'm with the others. Coaching isn't for everyone.  You are a first rate tv pundit.  That is where you should go  Please don't drag our club down any further.  You've done your best - we all understand that - but it just isn't working.

Moore resigns?  Board backs JA. Put the two stories together and what do you get?  People within want them out.
