Title: Club statement: Avram Papadopoulos
Post by: Roary on November 26, 2017, 03:20:09 AM
Brisbane Roar Football Club and Avram Papadopoulos acknowledge that the defender?s conduct in the incident with Sydney FC?s Matt Simon in the second half of Saturday night?s Hyundai A-League match was unacceptable.

Roar's key defender is disappointed and sorry for his actions.

"I would like to apologise to the Club, playing group, supporters and sponsors for letting game-related emotions get the better of me which caused a serious error of judgement," Papadopoulos said.

As a Club, we do not condone this type of behaviour.

Brisbane Roar FC recognise that this is an isolated incident and believes it is uncharacteristic of the player.

This matter will be dealt with on the side?s return to Brisbane on Monday. BRFC and Avram Papadopoulos will not be making any further comment at this time.

Stupid stuff. Take the medicine now and make sure it never happens again.

Well, it's Tuesday night - what's the deal.

The club should have imposed a punishment of its own, to demonstrate its ethics, and not wait for FFA.

Such action would claim the moral high ground, be good publicity and quite possibly influence the FFA decision.

A coach fully in charge would have acted by now. Another Aloisi fail.
