Title: Brisbane Lions WAFL
Post by: Septic Bladder on February 06, 2018, 03:07:59 PM
Bloody hell, this women?s league has been running for a few nanoseconds and already Lions Women are complaining and lobbying government about a purpose built home ground to cater for their game (see today?s Courier Mail)

If the Roar Organisation wasnt such a complete Clusterfcuk, if FFA wasnt mired in internal politics, the money government will inevitably give the Women?s Lions AFL could be channeled to a boutique stadium for Football.

It remains to be seen if anything happens with this.

They're definitely smart though.. Tacking onto the current wave of support for Women's sport plus the addition of knowing that the AFL will back them to the hilt and help where they can with lobbying.

An area where football leaves a hell of a lot to be desired. There is no grand plan, it's 90% of the time everyone for themselves..

Good luck to them. If they get it, it sets a precedent that, maybe, we can tap in to....

I was under the impression there were advanced plans already in place for an area at Springfield for an AFL hub including a a field that could be called a WAFL headquarters as well as for general LIONS training and use. But that would be Ipswich and not Brisbane..
