I saw a fake Socceroo jersey in Lowes the other day for $ 4.95. I bought two.
Joker  that served me said they are reduced because the W C is over. I said we play again on the 11 August. No, he said the WC is over.
Farnkin funny but sad.
Strikers score goals but defenders  win matches.

Will be interesting if any fresh faces get increased roles/full debuts.

oar and vidosic named in the socceroos squad. Full squad has been named, but it's far too hard to post it all on my phone.

Cahill, Milligan Out Of Friendly

TIM Cahill and Mark Milligan have pulled out of the Australia squad to face Slovenia on Wednesday (Thursday morning AEST) due to injury, the FFA revealed today.

Acting Socceroos boss Han Berger opted not to risk the duo after consulting both players' clubs before deciding to excuse the pair from national duty.

It's been a hectic few months for the Everton star since the World Cup in South Africa and it's believed he has been battling a few niggling injuries ahead of the new Premier League season.

Following the World Cup, Cahill, 30, returned almost immediately to Everton playing duties, travelling to Australia to play a number of games as part of the Toffees' pre-season preparation.

Everton begin their EPL campaign against Blackburn this weekend and Toffees manager David Moyes will be keen to have Cahill at his disposal.

Berger hasn't called any additional players into the squad meaning he will have just 16 at his disposal for Australia's first match since their World Cup Victory over Serbia in June

I watched the whole thing and our defence was woeful to say the least. Shithey was as crap as ever, lost the ball everytime he had possession and didn't do anything. No movement off the ball and basically the goalkeepers saved us from it ending up ugly. That and they couldn't hit the target to save their lives. Fully deserved win for them IMO :-\

Qantas Socceroos to face Germany in March 2011

Football Federation Australia (FFA) and the Deutscher Fussball-Bund (DFB) today announced that the Qantas Socceroos will meet the German National Football Team “The Mannschaft", in an international friendly match at Borussia-Park in Mönchengladbach in Germany on Tuesday 29 March 2011.

FFA CEO Ben Buckley said the match was part of a strategic plan aimed at getting the best competition possible for the Qantas Socceroos over the next four years.

“As we saw at the FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa Germany is one of the best teams in the world,” Buckley said.

“I’m sure that our boys and all Australian supporters will be looking forward to this rematch since our last result against Germany was not very favourable.

“We will continue to play the world’s top flight opposition with our next assignment against Paraguay, who made the Quarter Finals of the FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa, at the Sydney Football Stadium on October 9.”

Qantas Socceroos Head Coach Holger Osieck is excited about the prospect of facing off against the German National team.

“This will be a very special match and a great opportunity to test ourselves against a very well-respected opponent,” said Osieck.

“The German National team has a very rich and successful football history with a very talented group of current players.

“But I am confident that our players will be up for the challenge against such quality opposition,” concluded Osieck.

Germany finished in 3rd place at the recent 2010 FIFA World Cup™ and are currently ranked 3rd in the FIFA World Rankings. This will be the fourth meeting of the two nations at senior men’s international level with the Germans victorious on each of the three previous occasions which includes their 4-0 victory over the Qantas Socceroos at the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa.

The Qantas Socceroos next international friendly match, presented by the NSW Government, will be against Paraguay at the Sydney Football Stadium on Saturday 9 October 2010. Tickets for the match are currently available for purchase from Ticketek (www.ticketek.com.au) with the match broadcast Live & Exclusive on FOX SPORTS.
