Victory have signed a young aussie I've never heard of - Theo Markelis. Sounds very promising, and exactly the type of signing we have come to expect from Ange. Something tells me this kid will be good.

Should be a very good player for them.  Has been at Valencia the last few years, not getting game time but training with the first team last I checked.  Has been there about 5 years.  When he signed at 15 or something he had a stellar first season for their reserves and was rated by the Spanish press as the next Villa!

Fell away the last couple of years though.  But he should find his feet at this level, one would think.

I was playing Football Manager 2012 on the weekend and signed this guy.  Blew my mind when he actually signed for an A-League club.  I'd signed the lad as backup for Paartalu so maybe Ange has plans for him to play in a similar mould as Erik

I don't think Velaphi is as bad as what everyone makes him out to be. Maybe Ange will get the best out of him.

Great player, would have liked him with us.....

I can't cope with the thought of a happy MV fan.  We must beat them this year.  I'm very interested to see what players we sign in the coming months......

Victory's squad is looking good this year. If they sign an attacking mid, a player in a Broich role, they are gonna be a very strong side.

*Victory sign Flores

I know it doesn't confirm anything, but Loverk's wiki page states he is currently contracted to Sydney FC. The last few times there was a murmuring of a transfer or any kind of rumour, if it had been confirmed on wiki it always came to fruition.

Interesting to read that the Mariners turned down a request from Burnley to trial Ryan. Part of me wants him to go but another part thinks he should stay for another 2-3 years at least. At least he will get first team football. He's only 20...he'll have at least 5 years of sitting in the reserves at any Euro club.

I'm wrapped with this signing. I think Arnie will be able to get the best out of him. He'll most likely use him as a striker beside Bernie Ibini.

Spot on. He's better off staying here and having another stellar year (or two) before heading o/s.

On the financial side of things, there must be some money coming in because of the Sterjovski signing and the turning down of Ryan's trial. Also, our Centre of Excellent is coming along nicely.

We were badly burnt last year when we sold Simon and Griffith. The club recently stated "no more fire sales".. which in reality means sweet FA... but it does show a change in mind set which could reflect some certainty on the financial viability of the club.

Velaphi was called "The next Dida" by Farina and if memory serves correctly in his only qld roar game, he helped us win in a man of the match performance against the victory in their championship winning, fred, brebner, merrick, muscat day's. In reality though he really hasn't come on to the player that most expected and will probably end up as a bit of a Tom Pondeljak, circling around the a-league without much attention.

Obviously there has been much talk to a marquee with the backing of the bakrie group, right now though other than Del Piero there isn't many off-contract or released high profile (previous) stars, marquee's are also meant to put bums on seats, when the non-football fan thinks of footballer's he thinks of Beckham, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho types and maybe Totti (Because of the penalty). This is only fantasy of course, but if someone like a Del Piero is signed, 1) Brisbane doesn't have a large Italian following, 2) Del Piero is 37 and apparently a heavy smoker even more so than Zhang Yuning, how he would keep his fitness is beyond me. I'm still waiting for signings and it's killing me.

I would prefer a younger marquee.  Not a old past his prime star
