A little surprised we've heard no rumblings of any transfer interest for any of CCM's youth core ?

So far, it's been Babalj and then...... the sound of crickets.

Don't forget Ange's track record with signing club rejects. Many of our current team fall into that catogory, and look at them now. Kosta probably being the best example. Came to us from Wellington as a very raw talent, and turned out to be a fantastic signing. I'd suggest Spase is just the type of player Ange is after. I certainly wouldn't put it past Postegotclue to get the best out of him.

I think we are all a little guilty of hoping Ange struggles at Melbourne...kind of a "see what happens when you desert us" thing.
I will wait to see how Ange's signings go. He did pretty well with them at the Roar so I imagine he will do the same at Melbourne...(hopefully not too well though)

Part of me is more intrigued with how Melbourne's board will roll with Ange. Up here, he was gifted a pretty clean slate, and not much interference. By comparison, I can see so many people behind the scenes at Victory just putting their noses in where it's not wanted. And more will do so if Victory doesn't deliver from the get-go.

He'll still be able to enact his game/team plan. I just can't see it being done smoothly.

EXCLUSIVE Former Melbourne Victory hero Carlos Hernandez is set to be unveiled by a Calcutta club later this month in one of the biggest signings for the Indian Premier League.

The Costa Rican World Cup player and one-time A-League player of the year was recently released after five seasons with Melbourne Victory.

In that time the 30-year-old won many admirers with his vision, passing and ability to score spectacular goals.

But with the arrival of A-League super-coach Ange Postecoglou, the playmaker was deemed surplus to requirements.

There was talk of the midfield creator switching to another A-League club and speculation of a move to the Thai Premier League.

But Prayag United, based in Calcutta, West Bengal and who play in the Indian Premier League, have seemingly won the race for Hernandez?s signature and are set to unveil him towards the end of this month.

Ange proved at Brisbane that he can and will make sure that "unwanted elements" gets squashed and he'll enjoy total control..

Interesting fallout from Carlos Hernandez's departure from Victory. Wouldn't surprise me if the juggernaut of Kewell, Muscat and the MV board steamrolled the rest of the team (including Durakovic and Magilton's attempts to coach).

Carlos Hernandez has hit back at claims he priced himself out of an extension to his contract at Melbourne Victory, and has labelled the club's conduct as "unprofessional" in the way they handled his negotiations.

Hernandez, who spent five years with the two-time A-League champion, left Victory in May, but says rumours he made exorbitant wage demands are well wide of the mark.

"I was not demanding a salary of over $400,000 as claimed," says Hernandez, speaking via an interpreter from his home in Costa Rica.

"The truth is, the club wanted me to take a pay cut, which I simply rejected.

"The offer itself was very unprofessional, as there was no real document outlining terms and conditions. It was just some numbers written on a piece of paper - hence, I didn?t know if their offer was for one, two or three years.

"I requested clarification, but they never came forward with the information. So how was I expected to sign a piece of paper like that? I am not an idiot."

The Costa Rican, who is currently considering offers from clubs in Iran, Azerbaijan and reportedly India, also believes some players received preferential treatment last season - a contributory factor, he says, towards Victory?s underwhelming season.

"It was different for some than others, and I believe this was reflected in the season we had, as some were not really fully committed due to the negative environment around us. Having an inexperienced coach didn?t help, and in the end, his assistant was the one running the show, and giving priority to his 'mates' in the line-up."

One of those who suffered from a lack of first team opportunities was Hernandez?s compatriot, Jean-Carlos Solorzano. The former Brisbane Roar striker has also left the club, returning to Costa Rica reportedly disillusioned with life in Australia.

Again, Hernandez pulls no punches in his assessment.

?I believe the coaching staff was to blame. Not treating players well undermines their confidence, and this reflects in the players ability to perform when they get the chance to play," Hernandez says.

"This lack of professionalism has to be eradicated in order for football in Australia to grow.

Hernandez lays no blame at the door of new Victory coach Ange Postecoglou. The pair never discussed a new deal, and Hernandez believes he may have been advised "not to count on him" for next season.

Hernandez confirms he had a couple of offers from other A-League clubs - but his visa status meant he had to leave the country before talks reached the advanced stage.

But despite the bitter parting of the ways, the man known as "El Zorro" says he leaves Australia with wonderful memories of his earlier years - and his relationship with the Victory supporters.

"I have many positive memories? says Hernandez.

"Being chosen as the Johnny Warren medallist, being top goal scorer twice and winning the championship. But the most important memory that I will always keep is that of being one of the fans favourites.

"I will miss the love and support the Victory fans gave me and my family.

"It is very sad I could not continue playing in Australia - this is a beautiful country and Melbourne a gorgeous city, and it makes me sad, as I have had to leave many friends I have made down the years."

"My daughter Lashmi was born in Australia, and my son Carlos Daniel was only six months old when he arrived, and when I ask them where they want to live they both say Australia. So, one day I hope to return, maybe to finish my playing career over there," says Hernandez.

Melbourne Heart defender Curtis Good's English Premier League dream remains alive with an offer from Newcastle United believed to be imminent.

The clubs have been in talks for seven weeks after Good, 19, impressed the Magpies during a two-week trial.

It was revealed in April that Newcastle United would launch a bid and it's understood inquiries about Heart's asking price were made.

It's believed an offer in excess of $600,000 would seal the deal. That's a similar fee to Red Star Belgrade's purchase of Heart striker Eli Babalj this month.

Despite joining Heart only in February last year, youth international Good made the centre-back position his own, appearing in 25 games for the club.

"We are planning for Curtis to stay with the club, but if a suitable offer comes we won't stand in his way," Heart football manager John Didulica said.

"We haven't received anything for a few weeks, but they indicated they were still considering him as an option.

"They've left the door open to put a proposal forward for us to consider, but it's always difficult at big clubs because they look to conclude the big signings first - and Euro 2012 has probably held the process up a bit also."

Good's representative, Zeljko Susa from Pitch Management, hoped a deal would be struck.

"Discussions are ongoing and we are hopeful of a positive outcome," Susa said.

"It would be a fantastic opportunity for Curtis to continue his football development with a successful club from one of the world's best leagues."

Regardless of Good's future, Heart looks set to add Irish left-footed defender Steven Gray to its squad.

Gray, 30, plays for Oakleigh Cannons in the Victorian Premier League after playing for Irish clubs Derry City and Bohemians.

He impressed as a guest player on the Heart youth team's tour to the Hawaiian Islands Invitational in February.

Heart is also expected to sign former Gold Coast United winger Gol Gol Mebrahtu.

If Heart can get $1M + for Babalj and now Good, that's a decent footing Heart can have going into next season. And didn't they also sell off Madaschi for a fee to Jeju ? As for Mehbratu, shame that oneway isn't on here any more, he'd have a fit.

Madaschi was just an injury replacement officially. Also good to see the heart selling players for a good price, I often feel that we seemingly let our better players go (Kosta and Matty mainly) for not enough coin.

Yeh, the early years of the HAL really were about feeling out the transfer market. Hopefully the next 5-10 years will be about pushing better transfer fees. However, I still wonder if the European financial crisis plus various European clubs' financial dilemmas will see a reduced transfer spend spread (either less $ spent or less players transfering clubs with a fee attached).

Melbourne Victory Sign Brazilian Finkler

MELBOURNE Victory today revealed that they have signed Brazilian midfielder Guilherme Finkler on a two-year deal.

Finkler played with ABC Futebol Clube most recently after he was loaned out by Criciuma, a team in Brazil?s second division.

While the attacking midfielder has spent the majority of his professional career playing in Brazil, in 2006/07, he tried his hand in Europe, spending the season at English Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers after impressing on a pre-season tour of Spain.

Melbourne Victory coach Ange Postecoglou considers Finkler a key addition to his rapidly growing squad.

?Guilherme is an exciting prospect and I?m looking forward to working with him," he said today.

?Brazilian players have certain qualities that not many other players possess, so I?m confident he can bring a different type of flair to the group, but more importantly, he comes with a determination and ambition to be part of a successful team.?

Finkler is in the process of finalising his visa and is expected to arrive in early July - but can?t wait to get started.

?It?s very exciting for me to be joining Melbourne Victory,? he said. ?I hear they have great fans and have been a very successful club, so it?s a move I?m very happy to make.

?I have known Fernando Rech (former Adelaide United striker) for a long time and he told me how nice Australia is and that the standard of football is very good.?

So, Ange has his attacking mid.

Will Finkler be his Paaratlu... or his Waterloo ?

As for the list of ins and outs, there's enough talent in there to form Western Sydney's team at probably a decent price if they wanted to.

If I were CCM, I'd get onto Haliti as a cheap buy with potential to shore up their frontline.
