Went and saw the Knights back in the day they still existed.  Their fans (all 1000 of them) sole contribution to noise were horns. Horrible horrible horrible. We are much better than that.

They are banned due to the massive annoyance caused to just about everyone in the crowd who doesn't have one. During the 2010 SA world cup they were poison to any chants and TV broadcast. Completely ruined the experience for many.

Totally banned for good reason by the stadium at FFA, club and broadcasters' request. Thankfully!

That said:
* well done to all at the meeting. some excellent ideas.
* regarding the jar. This is an excellent idea but needs a little more thinking through. Could I suggest talk to the club and see if they would mind a couple of people with ID standing near the gates with sealed coin collection buckets at nominated games (not every week). I would happily drop in $20 as I passed by. (Not a den member). This money could go to a megaphone or two also. (Only about $50 or so each online).
* regarding drums and trumpets: BOTH could work. Multiple drums would be excellent. if the Roar were serious would they shout a couple of drummers who were keen a season ticket on the proviso that drummers were in the Den each week? Maybe worth a shout-out via FB.

Keep up the great work!

Everything said about chants is 100% true. I always try to get row 9 or 11, cause otherwise there's not enough people around me singing. I don't get why passengers go in the den regularly?

Sounds like a good meeting with lots of good ideas floated. I like the idea of a strong leadership group who take responsibility for leading match day chants.. and I'm very honoured to be one of the names considered as part of that group!

Will def attend the next meeting.

If anyone tries to play the trumpet in the den, I guarantee they will lose teeth (I'm not being a c**t. . . I mean because people will be knocking it against their teeth while they are playing because of the general insanity in the den). It would need to be behind, in front or beside.

maybe the triangle would be a safer option ? easier to learn too !  ....or maybe a few of you could get an ensemble recorder band going ? (everyone had to learn the recorder at some stage of primary school didn't they ?)
I would also like to see  a few of you Italians playing the piano accordion in the den.

Not sure if another thread has been made for the next meeting.. But here is something too discuss..

Have the front 6-7 rows empty, and full them with banners, etc.
Row 7 or 8, have the main cappo with mega
Row 10-11 have the core active group who carries on chants started by cppo
Row 12 have the drum
Row 17 or so, have another person with a mega who carries on the chant started by the cappo/core group..

Money for the second mega could be raised at the pre season matches.

Champions 2012
Champions 2013 ?

I like your thinking. Would provide a very good structure and with all the banners would look really good too.

I think the Dens first thing is to get a strong structure in place which seems to be happening with these meetings. This will allow for the most noise to be produced which is why the Den is primarily their. The rest can follow after.

Would be worth a try, I wouldn't mind seeing the Den become a little more organised.
Good post mate.  But don't you think it's time to change that sig quote?  :P

How much are you looking for for a megaphone?

They're relatively cheap as far as I understand from our good friend eBay, as cheap as $50 or so.

I'd pitch in the money for a new mega, or even just buy one myself for the Den.
