Really want to go, but not sure if I should take my 8 week old boy, or more importantly, if the wife thinks its a good idea or not.
I wish my vagina excused me from being completely clueless but allowed to be paid as an 'expert'

Mate I wouldn't.. It's been a terrible winter for my boys in relation to sickness and it's only because my 5 year old had his toncils removed and grommets inserted last monday that I'm stepping out with a little confidence.

Only if he has had his Whooping Cough vaccine (and has had it for at least 2 weeks)!

It gets cold out at these pre-season games, I wouldn't risk it on an 8 weeker =/

Yeah wishful thinking on my behalf I think. . .but those burgers are just soooo good haha. I guess I'll just have to wait till next preseason as I don't think I'll be bringing him to suncorp until he can behave and not annoy (cry) the other punters.

Wow an eight week old, don't do it.  I'm still wondering about taking a 6 year old.  I've taken him to a few BPL games, but I'm thinking of getting him a season pass this season.  Even if I only take him to the 4 sunday arvo games, that's pretty good value.  There are some bad flu's going around this winter.  As we speak my wife is pulling her hair out because the young fella has been throwing up for two days and I'm no use because I've just had an ACL reconstruction, so I can't help much either.  Gotta love the start of the EPL when bedridden with foxtel in the bedroom.

As long as I am able to walk into Suncorp come the first home game I'll be happy.

I am super excited to go to my first Brisbane Roar game! What time should I be there for autographs?  Also what is the availability of Roar gear like jersey's at preseason games?

not too sure with signings but you can grab a jersey before hand at the game. however if you want to be safe, check out any rebel sport or super amart. soccer world on logan road (just google them) near garden city will prob have some. tbh, im not too sure the availability.
enjoy your first game!

Thanks for the information on the jerseys.  I will try to get it at the game because then it will be more special.

the game starts at 7pm.  that should mean the autograph session starts at about 5.15 to about 6pm, leaving the players 60 mins to warm up before kickoff.  the club normally sends out an email to members with all the details.    i haven't renewed my membership yet, so i'm not sure if they have already sent an email.

BFUS - given your fairly unique circumstances, you might go ahead and call/email the club's merch people to make sure your size will be available at the game. It'd be too bad if you missed out on getting your shirt, and the opportunity to get it signed, because they didn't have stock in their little caravan. You can still get it lettered/numbered at Soccer World at Logan Road, Mount Gravatt without having bought it there. The club don't have those facilities.

Good luck!

Player Signings 5.15 to 5.50pm
Players warm up 6pm to 6.50pm
March Past of Rovers Juniors 6.45pm
Kick off 7pm

As for bringing kids, I don't see why not? Unless they are quite sickly. We will have our Juniors from Squirts (3 year old) right up to Under 15s up there participating, so I can't see why you wouldn't bring a 6 year old. Just make sure they're rugged up and I'm sure they will be fine.
