Newcastle v Brisbane - Pub viewing locations

Hotel LA   - Location
Hotel LA has appointed a new manager (i'm sure most of you will recognise him) who has approached us with a deal for this match (and all away matches for the remainder of this season). Cheap drinks for all BRFC members this friday night to watch the Roar play Newcastle.
If you are interested in coming, please RSVP here - http://www.facebook.com/#!/events/434885666580737/

The Shafston Hotel - Location
The Club sanctioned venue - The Shafston - is still on for those who prefer a southside location. The Shaftston offers all Roar members a great deal on food and drink and has the game on multiple screens throughout the venue.

The difference in the two being is the Shafston is a club sponsor.  Why move from a venue that financially supports the club?  LA are just after a quick buck.  Again.

It wouldn't be a bad idea at all to have 2 official venues North and South to show the game fulltime. Get on it BR marketing.

I think you'll find those who go to LA would never go to the Shafston. Logistically that place is terrible to get to/from.
Consider it an alternative place that suits those on the north.

That and the picture and sound quality from the Shafston sounds like it's come from a spud.

Are LA doing the drink specials on match days or only away days?

I know the drinks are expensive, but does anyone still go to the pig?

Given the 'proper English pub' will just play Super Rugby and NAB Cup on the big screen anyway, not sure.

Thanks to terroarist for posting where the upcoming away matches are being screened - good to know!

I went to the riverpig last match and there were only about 10 ppl watching it there - was on the big screen though.

Quiet on a Sunday. Riverpig heaving with suities & OLs on a Friday night - SuperInfinity handeggball likely to grace the big screen, as SA & TAC advised re Mallpig.

I'm at LA now. They're doing $6 pints at present and $4 basics a little later on. Could be a messy night if Brisbane wins!!!

The LA was good for the brief time I was there last night.

Come to Hotel LA on caxton st, it's the match day pub for the den for both home and away games.  Usual match day drink prices as well for away games, just bring your membership/season ticket with you if you have one.

Do they play all A-League games or just Roar?

If you ask nicely I'm sure they'd be happy to chuck it on a tv.  But if there's live sport more often than not they'd show it anything else.
