Hi Chico, the amount you have paid is correct for the renewal, I got a call during last week advising me that the money would come out over the weekend , and if it was ok as I had a couple to put on the card.
Also I received a receipt via email, for the Roar Office... check your spam just in case....

Thanks.
I didn't receive a call, but I noticed today that the contact number was incorrect in the account details. Although with a bit of intelligence they could have figured it out as it it was recorded as starting with 4 rather than 04. They have the right email though and I did not receive anything.
I was going to renew anyway, but if the transaction is by the Roar, then  it's a bit irregular to operate this way.
I have emailed the membership team to enquire.
I was going to contact the bank and stop the transaction and will hold off.

My card has been charged correctly for four memberships. I received an email days after the semi telling me that we would soon be getting communication from the club and that auto-renewal meant we would be charged unless they heard different.
A week or so later I got a call from Bowlesy, then the next day again from Jamie Young, and I advised both that I expected to be renewing and that my payments would be automatic.

My view is that they are getting things done smartly and can concentrate on getting the membership packs out more than a week before the first game (I hope at a pre-season event rather than posted).

I have heard back from the membership team this morning after I emailed them, confirming that my membership rolled over.
I don't mind, but the club really should be advising people properly and professionally. I should not find out by finding a rogue transaction on my credit card.
I wasn't actually aware that they were holding my credit card details.
I checked my email and spam folder and cannot find anything saying they would do this.
The idea of calling people is great, but if they do not actually get through when they call, then they should not proceed.

I received an email prior to them automatically renewing my membership and giving a date to change your mind.
However I opted out preferring to see what direction the club takes during the off season.

I didn't get an email reminding  me it was time to renew (or phone call) which is pretty average. How hard can it be to send emails to all members who haven't renewed?

Just renewed now and the lady I spoke to was very helpful.

Got a confirmation email that says "thanks for coming on board for 2017/18 season..blah blah blah." Which is immediately under a photo of Borello and McClaren - surely a better image could be found.

plus points to the lady at the club for her help but overall more effort needed to chase / retain members especially if brisbane becomes a two team town.

As a matter of interest if you still have the email, could you advise what the title of it was; when it was sent; and which address it came from please. I can try again to find it.
But I note spongebob also not able to find it.
I can think of quite a few reasons why the way the Roar is handling this is not correct although as I said before, I would have renewed anyway. But that is not the point. In fact I am not sure it is legal.

Chico see below ..
It was titled "2017/18 memberships same seat renewal.....now open" and sent April 30th
I opted out and received a call from Mark  Kingsman. I am yet to decide whether to rejoin but I'm not greatly optimistic on how our club is run. The latest on the club fines didn't help! Still pissed off on the Broich thing too but I'll get over it, one day.
Rejoin or not I'll always support the Roar!

In the coming days you will start to see information advertising 2017/2018 memberships now on sale for full season members wishing to renew their seats from the 2016/2017 season.

Our records indicate that when you placed your order for the 2016/2017 season you opt'd in to automatically renew your membership for 2017/2018 season. As such, when you log onto your member profile during the same seat period you will get an error message if you go to renew your seats.

Please note, this is simply because the system has recognised you already wish to renew your memberships and will automatically rollover and deduct payment from your account on May 27th 2017.

Should you wish to make changes or cancel your automatic rollover, please email the Brisbane Roar Membership team membership@brisbaneroar.com.au and advise them of any changes by May 25th 2017.

Further information regarding your automatic rollover will be sent to you in the coming days.

I just did a search. I am a real hoarder and tend to move stuff into a junk folder rather than delete it. I have been unable to find it. So I don't believe it was sent to everyone.
I have asked the membership team for more information and a receipt and so far have not heard back.

The closest I got to the email was a newsletter on 4th May (so they have my email address)

Calling all BRFC 2016/17 Full Members
In case you missed it! Same seat renewals for the Hyundai A-League 2017/18 season are now open for BRFC 2016/17 Full Members! Renew by Friday, 9th June 2017 and get a free member cap! #FeelTheRoar

Is there a chance that you are not the primary account holder for a group of memberships? I am, and I believe that none of the others received emails or calls.

No there is just me. I suspect that the membership folk haven't got their processes right. It looks like the same deal as with the ACL.
They really need some professional project management.

I have received an email today from noreply@memberlink.net.au confirming the renewal and the $303.95.
I don't know if that would have come anyway (as it is a business week since the transaction), or if it was sent out because I asked for some form of receipt, but at least I have it. Thanks everyone for all your helpful suggestions which basically stopped me getting the bank to bounce the transaction as a rogue one.
