There are some hard taskmasters on here, as far as I am concerned he is a great shot stopper which is his main job and I thought we mainly play out from the back anyway. He has bided his time behind Theo when he could have gone elsewhere and to me he should be signed pronto.

Some of the scores have flattered us this season because of him and I'm sure not too many of those stops or goals scored against us were because of poor distribution by him.
We try to play out from the back, he distributes poorly, gets it kicked back to him and he turns it over with a wild kick upground. He still has fits of panic.
Stopping goals is the job of a keeper. If he can't do that he doesn't get the job to start with. Therefore keepers need other qualities to set them apart. Theo can do his job, distribute effectively, maintain control of his defense, and put opposition players off their game. Theo should get the gig back as soon as he is fit, and we should sign another keeper of Jamie's calibre, perhaps 5 year younger.
Sport: Exciting only when you are sitting down

I think there is a job going as a football director, you could be just what the Roar need to point us in the right direction.  ;)

I agree with OE regarding Young. Don't agree regarding Theo. Think he is far too prone to brain farts and has been beaten too much in the recent games he has played.

I think we could target Daniel Margush from Adelaide United. People have big wraps on him, he is developing and he probably doesn't see himself getting past Izzo at Adelaide. Don't imagine it would be too hard to lure him away (although attracting players to the Roar at the moment is another matter).

It will be very, very hard to convince talented players to join Brisbane unless we have a new coach.

Skapetis has left the club but mutual agreement.

Since we were at the maximum in our squad I wonder if we're letting him go because we've got someone lined up?

Hard to tell whether we are doing a cleanout or people are jumping from the sinking ship.

Don't mind him going tbh.

He's apparently headed straight to the Mariners

Strange move if true. With Hoole, Pain and Appiah, CCM seem to be covered for average wingers. He doesn't have the pace of the others either.

Maybe they want to play him centrally.

I hope so but is nothing new for us to get rid of the young guys and keep the oldies.

I understand what you're saying but IMO Skapetis didn't really work out as well as expected.

Whether that was an issue on his part or JA/club not getting the best out of him is up for debate.

Wouldn't mind picking up trent buhagier in return. Fast winger with some finishing skills.

The issue is no other clubs would be willing to sign any of our oldies, so if we wanted to get rid of them, we'd have to pay them out. At least CCM wanted him so it could be a mutual release.

O'toole struggled defensively tonight. Hopefully keeps his place to learn. His crosses

Devere and Papa put some nice balls forward tonight. Devere was struggling at the end.

Good that players got a few minutes. They should get better - gameiro, holman, TK, franjic.
Shame about Eric B.

We looked pretty fragile holding on.

Some of the guys looked absolutely shattered by the end of the game. I think we needed 5 or 6 subs instead of 3. Definitely shows our fitness isn't up to scratch.

game 4 of 5 in 18 days, that sort of schedule is really going to test players.

A break down of how many appearances each player last night has played this season (Out of possible 17 Rounds).

Maccarone - 17
Hingert - 16
McKay - 15
Khalfallah - 14
Young - 13
Oxborrow - 13
Papadopoulos - 10
O'Toole - 10
DeVere - 9
Holman - 8
Kristensen - 7
Gameiro - 7
Franjic - 6
Brady - 2
---------------------
Notable omissions:
Skapetis - 14
Pepper - 12
Bautheac - 10
Caletti - 9
*********************
IMO that definitely shows that it's not just conditioning that's an issue here. Simply, a strong amount of gametime in the legs is not something we have a lot of in the majority of our players.

**********************
The you take a look at Sydney (Out of 16 Rounds): Their top 14 players..
Jordy Buijs    16
Andrew Redmayne 16
Joshua Brillante 16
Brandon O'Neill 16
Alex Wilkinson 16
Bobo   Striker 16
David Carney 16
Luke Wilkshire 15
Alex Brosque 15
Michael Zullo 13
Milos Ninkovic 13
Adrian Mierzejewski 13
Matt Simon 12
Paulo Retre 9
