Massive game. Not only in the context of World Cup qualifying but also to certify ourselves as the big dog in Asia.
A champion is one who gets up when he can't.

Pretty terrible this first half. No runners and no space. Well played Japan so far

I don't reckon the Japanese manager will see out the group stage.

We played crap in the first half.

Tight group.

My Japanese wife insisted we fly down to watch the game.
How, apart from the operation of grand corruption could anyone think of putting on a serious soccer(sorry) game at Etihad or presumably any ALF designed stadium is beyond me.
Telescopes were needed but not provided to make out the game. And if like us you were in the lowest tier some of the action was lost by the canvas wall around the area of the pitch and a couple of metres outside. From that area to the spectators acres of prairies ran.
Go to Etihad to appreciate just how great is Suncorp.

I agree.  I was at the game also (it the top tier) and it's a terrible stadium.  And what's with not bringing the seats forward to the rectangle configuration?  Is this just a cash-grab decision by the FFA so they can sell and extra 6000 seats?  Which they didn't?

I went to and had lower tier seats. Was still 50m away from the field. More atmosphere from the Japanese supporters.

Terrible stadium for football.
