Apparently our game against Victory tonight is going to be live streamed in case any of you haven't already been disappointed enough by a poor team playing with 3 at the back. Lol
Whereabouts. Facebook? Fox?

Probably check the Roars Facebook closer to Kick off time and they should post a link to the stream. I have seen it from one of their posts earlier this morning.
Thanks!

They have cancelled the live stream at the last minute.
Maybe just as well. Berisha has scored after 15. It looks like we are fielding an under strength Roar team again, although so are they.  Make that 2-0 after 19 minutes.
Sad thing is we played our strongest team , our defence was shocking with Brown and Hingeart unable to adjust to this new formation .
Brady ,back to NYL for a few more years !
No one can put a positive spin on this crap imo .

A double from Besart Berisha has helped return Melbourne Victory to the winners list, defeating Brisbane Roar 3-1 at Morshead Park in Ballarat.

It was Victory?s first competitive match since exiting the FFA Cup, and it started the game brightly.

Victory dominated territory and it was only a matter of time before the reward was found.

Matias Sanchez, playing his first minutes in Victory colours, found Besart Berisha with a delightful ball. Although Michael Theo was on hand for a quality save from Berisha?s first effort, the Victory captain for the evening made no mistake with the rebound to put his side ahead.

Just five minutes later Jai Ingham would double the lead, getting on the end of a wicked cross in from Mitch Austin.

The ball eluded Brisbane defenders and goalkeeper, leaving Ingham with the easiest of finishes at the back post.

Roar came into the game after the second goal, and it was Peter Skapetis who made the most of good fortune to halve the home side?s deficit.

A shot from range took a sizeable deflection, leaving Lawrence Thomas stranded as the ball looped over him and in off the underside of the crossbar.

Roar started the second half the better side, but Victory held firm, and it was that man Berisha who would put the game to bed.

Picking up a loose ball in space, the Victory striker rounded Theo and made no mistake with the finish.

Brisbane Roar 1 (Skapetis 31?)

What's with leaving Berisha unmarked? Not once but twice. The ball watching for the third goal was unbelievable.
Communication.

what is with this whole " zonal "marking crap ?
Everyone does it now ,all over the world. Sure makes for high scoring games.I come from an era where if you played a player like Berisha ,you sat on him and annoyed the crap out of him , at half time if he went for a piss, you went with him....now backs say "Ahh gees Bes nice goal ,didn't see you there right in front of me "
Your life is an occasion...rise to it.

Interviewer "if you weren't a footballer what would you be ? "
Peter Crouch " hmmmm  ??............a virgin ? "

Seemed like we played 4 at the back. Looking at the second half footage, roar pressed higher up the pitch which worked quite well. Skapetis on the right and Holman centrally both look good but need FBK or better left sided option (other than Brady).

Defence looks vulnerable. Too look slow at the back. CMs are not fast nor good defenders. Need TK back. If we press high, the long ball could be our downfall. Worked when North was a bit quicker. Bowles could be useful.

I'm no expert but I thought we played with 4 at the back against China too. But because we have no out and out left sided player fit as yet, CB pushes forwards a fair bit as the only left wide player so hard to tell.
I commented in that game how the Chinese were lining up unmarked, and part of that was due to the absence of TK and absence of communication.
I really hope that we don't go for 3 at the back, because even if we can get a first eleven that can cope, I don't think we have enough depth to cover when the first eleven is not available. And even with 4 at the back, we seem to be getting done. We seem to have big problems both in attack and defence.
From the twitter footage, the Berisha goals where basically no-one marked Berisha are astonishing. As in bad. Surely he is the first player to mark.
The second goal was a bit harder to defend against and the fault is as much with failure to prevent the cross as it is with Brown failing to deal with it.
I don't have a problem with losing pre season games against A-League opposition provided there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Currently Skapetis seems to be the only thing we have going for us.
It would be good to see the footage of the Victory game. Is there a link?

Always worries me when a coach goes into excuse mode, but the part of this story about the reason why the team didn't travel ahead of the game even though accommodation was paid for is the most worrying part of the report.

Yes is a worry, no wonder we cannot get a decent shirt sponsor.
