Holman is back for this one . Still no TK and the rest . Not to mention Eric the French . Another loss here and things will heat up for sure .

Pax 13292 as of 9:00am this morning.

Not bad. You'd hope we can get 15k for the first game of the season but probably closer to 10k. Weather is actually looking perfect for this game. Rain will hold off till around 9-10pm, then it will bucket down for 2-3 days straight.

Let's hope Friday the 13th is unlucky for Adelaide!

Massively important to get a win in our first home game of the season. Adelaide are no mugs but I think they're there for the taking.

PAX 15015 just now.

Surely you would get another 500-2000 walks ups for the first home game of the season. Crowd should be comfortably over 15k

Updated the kit for Adelaide. Very surprised they're wearing white TBH, as it will clash with ours.

Pretty happy to watch that game from home, having not paid a penny for a match ticket nor a season ticket. Two games in and signs are looking good for a bottom 2 finish. Adelaide fully deserved to win that game. They ran over the top of brisbane as we have done to teams on so many occasions. I felt nothing when adelaide scored the winner, I think that means I dont give a flying f**k about this club after 11 or so seasons.

i feel sorry for the 11000 people there tonight, we had nothing in the second half, even the look on JA's face showed it.

you could say it was because we weren't fit, or the fact the team is full of middle aged men...

You can carry one or two older players, but not the amount we have...

They had nothing left in the second half and it wasn't even that hot tonight.

Not surprised we lost, they were attacking our goal for most of the second half.

there is no speed in this team, passing was piss poor

The old italian did alright, apart from the heavy touch in front of goal in the second half.

Although i felt that he was going to deep trying to get the ball back, you can do that when you are fast and young, not at his age.

There was one highlight, the new bar in the stadium is quite relaxing and they serve decent full strength beer of the tap, and a beer only cost one kidney, instead of a first born :)

Agree with BrynFC

We lacked both fast counter-attack players to punish Adelaide on the break (FBK was out on his feet, Maccarone is not that kind of player) and players to hold the ball/knock it around (miss a broich).

My other concern is our CM. Mckay and Caletti are not great defenders but are supposed to be good at knocking it around. They were ok in the first half but waned like everyone else. Caletti is getting used to a full 90 minutes. Oxborrow would be worth a try. TK should make a difference whenever he comes back.

I thought there were some positives -- maccarone was excellent, Holman is back. Holman should make a big difference over D'Agostino. Need the Frenchman (EB) badly to offer pace and good service.

Would Ingham be worth a go as RW or LW sub ?

Our passing was awful. Our intent was lacking. We were on the back foot at home for the majority of the match.

Communication seemed to be lacking from Theo towards his defenders. Either that or they have no faith in him and chose to hoof the ball out instead of trusting him.

Caletti and McKay are too similar and pretty much cancel each other out.

Old man Maccarone hasn't the legs nor the strength to hold up the ball.

Daggers has no composure.

Ben Kalfallah looked exhausted about 70min in and should have been hooked. His runs dried up and his passing turned to shit.

My highest hope for tonight was a draw. I'm not surprised by the loss.

Painful season ahead.

We were ok for an hour or so. The better team, better chances.

Then the fatigue set in, and it looked like the players could barely move.

It did not come as a surprise that we conceded the equaliser, but the second goal, now that was a kick in the guts.

It was like sitting watching a train wreck in slow motion. A couple of times during the game there was a message on the big screens for people to get behind Brisbane and no-one reacted. The atmosphere was unelectric. It was all a bit weird.
JA's talk about preseason and players being unfit is baffling at best. And tiresome. How long have Roar had to get a team on the park? Is there a reason Roar need  longer than other clubs? What is going on with the fitness side of the business? ..................... as for JA saying young Skapetis hasn't played for two years etc! Wasn't he on fire in preseason? Or is it a different guy?
I assume dropping Hingert to the bench was about getting time into Papa's legs again. It is a questionable decision given that it reduced the attacking options on the right and the pressure on us was continuous. Jado defended well but does not have the pace going forwards. We looked like the away team.
Adelaide were the better side although by no means great.
I have seen the headlines about Jado punching a player. Maybe that was why he was Brisbane's man of the match. Given Roar play at Jeff Horne's home ground. I didn't get a good look but would say the Adelaide foul that sparked it off was a red card offence. Why the VAR was so lenient I don't know. Maybe if I see it again it will be clearer.
Highlights. I though Big Mac was good although sometimes bewildered by the poor quality of his own team especially D'aggers double miss for example. A chance Big Mac carved out. Wasted. Sums it all up really. D'aggers is too sexy for his boots.
We defended the corners well especially given the sheer number of corners, although by not having an option at the half way line, we were at risk of conceding a goal similar to last week.Got away with it. Now we need to work on long throws and avoid goals conceded from that. Note to JA / RA. Must work on defending long throws.
Didn't get chance to sample the good beer. So ended up with the rum and coke as per usual. I can't stand coke so it just shows what I think of the regular beer.
Big question. Will we ever see our Frenchman? Big time bungle on the Roar end given the number of Europeans picked up by other clubs.
Other big questions. Can I be even arsed to turn up next week? What else is on Sunday 22d? Even root canal treatment or colonoscopy appeal somewhat more.
RIP The Ange/Broich era. Distant memories. Least we forget.

How do you reconcile PAX with actual attendance of 11,000?
